It is a fact. The longer Euro 7 implementation is delayed, the more pollutants are emitted into the atmosphere.
On November 10, 2022, the European Commission suggested stricter emission standards for vehicles with internal combustion engines. The Commission’s proposal suggests introducing Euro 7 standards for heavy-duty vehicles in 2027 whereas the provisional agreement between the European Parliament and Council on December 18, 2023, foresees different application dates: 48 months after the regulation enters into force for new types of heavy-duty vehicles and 60 months for new heavy-duty vehicles.
However, any delay in the introduction of Euro 7 standards comes at a considerable cost.
