The European Tyre and Rubber Manufacturers Association (ETRMA) has commissioned EMISIA to design, organise and perform an experimental campaign to measure Tyre Road Wear Particles (TRWP) PMs and derive the corresponding emission factors. EMISIA in collaboration with the Laboratory of Applied Thermodynamics of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki will:
- conduct a thorough literature review of publications and data on tyre emissions,
- design and validate a novel experimental approach, addressing challenges in the measurement of tyre wear particles by using state-of-the-art technologies and methods,
- execute the experiments and
- collect and process the results.
The outcome of the study will be a new methodology including emission factors to estimate tyre airborne emissions.
